Our little girl is TWO!!!

I promise to post new pictures soon, but I just wanted to let everyone know that today is Anna Claire's second birthday!!! She is amazing and I am so proud every day to be her Mother. I can't believe I am the mother of a two year old! I have been negligent on getting her birthday invites out, but we are having it next Saturday, the 28th from 10:00 to 12:00 at the park behind the library in Brandon if anyone would like to come...

Quick update...

For those of you who have been giving me advice on getting rid of the pacifier... we did it!!! Last Saturday we just started telling her that only babies need paci's and that she was a big girl. She asked for it a few times, but it was relatively easy to break her from it. I think Samuel and I had more anxiety over the transition than anything and that's why we kept putting it off. Yay!!!

GEORGE is THREE!!!

George had his third birthday party at Maley's this weekend! As usual, he was the life of the party! He is so beautiful and good-natured and smart! We love us some George! I was a little worried, though, because Anna Claire is still not so much on the swimming idea. She finally got in with Aunt Mandi, but that didn't last long. She went down the slide to Uncle Kyle one time and decided she had had enough!!!

"Swimming" if you can call it that, with Aunt Mandi...

Not real happy at this point...

Alena's beautiful girls... Bonnie and Audrey (loved the water and had a blast!)

Lil Miss

Pouting, which is how she spent most of the party...

We love the zoo!

Last weekend it was chilly, but pretty, so we decided to get out and go to the zoo since we had all been cooped up in the house sick for so long. We had a great day! Anna Claire is getting old enough now that she really enjoys the animals and can identify them. For some reason, on this trip, she decided she did not like monkeys. Every time we would go near a monkey display she would start... "don't like monkeys, don't like monkeys..." Wonder what that was all about?
This is Anna Claire reading the zoo map to decide where we were going to go first. She studied the map periodically to make sure we were still on track...

Lil Miss Hollywood with her stylin' shades...

Who needs a stroller anyway? She is a BIG GIRL!

This elephant came as close as it could to Anna Claire and Sam. Anna loved it!

Some pics I have been meaning to post...

I don't know what I did to deserve this mad face as she was sucking all the icing off the Valentine's cupcakes!!!

This is a dress my Dad bought for me when I was two years old. He bought it in Europe somewhere and my Mom found it the other day and brought it to us. Of course, no cooperation from Anna Claire to take a photo, but you get the picture. It is so stinkin' cute on her.

Sorry, for some reason I never could get this pic to rotate!

Pics from the park... one of our favorite spots!

HELP!!!

I do not have time or patience! I am trying to figure out how to make my blog all pretty like everyone else's blog, but I just keep messing it up. I am going to continue to fiddle with it... so bear with me...

Evasive maneuvers...

Anna Claire does not like to have her picture taken! Katie, Kristi and I tried EVERYTHING to get some good shots, to no avail... some of them are cute anyway!

Funny little girl...

I know I have been more than terrible at blogging, but my computer at home is down and I think we may have lost our hard drive (which had ALL of Anna Claire's pictures on it, so I am devastated!!!) I am going to try to catch up on a few funny things about her...

Over the holidays Anna Claire and I did our fair share of shopping. So much so that if I ask her on the weekend what she wants to do, the automatic response is "go shopping, mama." Do not even attempt to stroll past a shoe section of ANY store without letting her try on, and usually buy a pair of shoes. She loves shoes, purses, and particularly "lips or lip goss." She will scream bloody murder if she doesn't have some sort of chap-stick/lip gloss/lipstick at any given moment. She loves to put "lips" on anyone and everyone, so watch out! I don't think I was that prissy. I think she gets it from staying at Peggy's around Sara Scott, Hayleigh and Carleigh. She is definitely a girly girl.

A couple of weeks ago Anna Claire and I decided to go take Daddy out to lunch! After lunch, we went by the office to see all of his co-workers. She was not really in the mood to be very sociable, but when we left, after she had already said her "bye-bye Daddy," I said "bye, Sam." A few steps down the hall we go and little miss copy-cat yells out "bye, Sam" down the hall, met by rolling laughter from all "the boys."

Sam got the ladder out the other day to change out the air filter and Anna asked him "whatrdoin?" which is her run together form of what are you doing. He told her what he was going to do and she smiled the sweetest little smile and looked up at him to say "be careful." She melts us, she truly melts us.

I was home from work one day just to spend the day with Anna. I thought I might as well be good for something since I was home and it was too cold to get out much, so I cleaned. You know how you really have to make a mess to thoroughly clean something? I had pulled everything out of the bathroom and was scrubbing the floor when miss hot stuff comes to the door, hands on hips, and says "who made this mess?" I busted out laughing and promised her I would clean it up. She responded "okay" and went back to playing with her toys in the living room. Who made this mess????

Our #1 addiction at this time is the movie Madagascar. I do not exaggerate when I say we have probably watched this movie, or at least had this movie on, at least 100 times since Christmas. She has plenty of other movies, great toys, fun things to do, but that dad gum movie has to be played ALL the time!!! She calls the movie "lion" and says "wanna watch lion" over and over and over again until we eventually give in. Terrible, I know.

Necessary STILL: We still have a pacy, though not used nearly as much as it used to be. We have thrown it away a couple of times, but we are very weak and bring it back out to make our lives easier; we already regret it, no need to tell us!!! Anna Claire still carries the big brown blanket that was originally called "bay" then progressed to "bankie", but is now called "brown" because she also carries two other blankets these days. What in the world? Her small blanket, that is perfect for lugging around (IF it was the only would she would carry) is called "blue" despite the fact that it is obviously a PINK blanket. She also has another BIG blanket that is pink and is called "pink." One day I asked her what color the brown blanket was and she said "brown." I asked her what color the small pink blanket was and she said "pink." So, naturally, I said "why do you call it blue?" and she answers, quite matter of factly, "because, mama, because." Makes perfect sense to me...

Very bad BLOGGER!!!

Sorry it has been so long! Our computer is on the fritz at home, and I really haven't had the opportunity to blog at work. I promise updates soon!!! Happy New Year! (I will change my background and all that good stuff soon as well!)
